A fair question, and since there are already plenty of people out there making full-time salaries from their blog, it’s time to find out how you can get a piece of this.

It begins like so many other business ventures: with a plan.

Today I’ll walk you through the basic steps to form a business plan for your blog.

Follow this path and you’ll be making big bucks doing what you love in no time!

A Quick-Start Guide to Your Business Plan

These types of things require a lot of time and energy so what you see here will only be the beginning of your journey. Even so, if you’re looking for a good place to start, right here will do just fine!

Step One: “Establish a Product/Service” 

Your product may be something you sell through your blog like an invention or an affiliate product that you promote and sell. It could also be a service, like helping people set up their own blogs (that idea is taken though. Just kidding!) or it could be something completely different.

The point is, you need to define what your blog is supposed to do. Does it primarily promote and sell, or does it assist and entertain? Once you answer these questions, you’ll have a clearer picture of how to properly make money from it.

Step Two: “Determine Your Brand and Audience” 

When you think of Coke, you think of the soda. When you see the logo, you immediately know what it is. That’s an example of an extremely strong brand. You need to build the same level of comfort with your blog. It doesn’t happen overnight but it does happen with consistent voice and tone to your posts, a logo, and an understanding of your audience.

Speaking of the old peanut gallery, you should be aware of who they are and what they want from your blog. Remember to always put yourself in their shoes.

Step Three: “Create a Marketing Strategy” 

Your blog needs to spread and become known to the world. Promoting your blog and its content is easier said than done, but there’s plenty of ways to do it. For starters, begin by building an email list and sending out newsletters at decided intervals. People who give you their email are willing to listen, so don’t take them for granted.

Social media is the other side of the coin. Reach out on all the platforms the people in your audience use and spread the world that your blog is here and it’s amazing.
