It’s hard to believe that 2014 is about to end. It seems like yesterday that I was writing the homepage article for the website.

I imagine time has also flown by for those of you who started a blog this year. Wherever you are, beginners or seasoned veteran, we brought you some top level posts this year.


Let’s take a look at some of them and how they can help you now, and in the future.

It’s always good to know the best approaches to blogging. Even those of us who have been doing this for years will still stumble upon a few common mistakes here and there.

This kind of post will keep you grounded in the best possible practices that blogging has to offer.

Search engine optimization is always at the forefront of any blogger’s mind. Of course, you won’t be able to show up on any search engines without first getting indexed by them, but once that happens, you’ll need to be prepared with high-quality optimized content.

SEO is one of those things that will never truly be set in stone, it’s constantly changing. That being said, this basic tenants have stuck around since the beginning, which means you’ll be needing them in your arsenal going forward.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, when it comes to blogging platforms WordPress is at the top of its class. A vast majority of the internet uses it, and for good reason. Possibly the best feature it has are the 30,000+ plugins that it offers.

These handy tools will do everything from add social media buttons, to optimizing your content, to helping you create that award-winning design you’ve always wanted.

With these four posts, you’ll be well on your way towards creating or upgrading your blog in a matter of minutes. These valuable tips helped us in 2014 to bring our blogs out of the darkness and into Google’s loving embrace. This isn’t the end though my friends, far from it in fact.

This post has a lot of mileage to it for both beginners and advanced bloggers. Promoting your blog and increasing traffic is like doing the dishes or laundry at home. It’s a job that never ends no matter how high the numbers climb.

These evergreen tips I’ve provided you will continue to be useful in 2015 and beyond. You’ve graduated from those free websites and blogs, so now it’s time to make yours known to the world.

2. The Blogger’s Bible

Blogging is one of those things where it’s encouraged to read up on the competition. There are thousands upon thousands of blogs out there designed to help you out, give you a confidence boost, or simply offer some great tips.

My blogger’s bible consists of the best blogs I know and love. I read them every day or at the very least every week. Each time I visit them I’m inspired and overjoyed that I took time to check up on them. Trust me, these will be a great boon to your success in 2015 and beyond.

Coming up with that perfect post idea is never easy, and it never will be. Check out this definitive list of the best post concepts you’ll find on the internet. It may be huge now, but ideas are one of my specialties so expect it to grow significantly in 2015.
